Is Maid to Scrub a franchise?

No, we are locally owned and operated by college students.

When a team comes to clean do I need to provide mops, rags, vacuum cleaner, etc.?

Maid to Scrub is equipped with all the necessary cleaning tools for service with the exception of a toilet brush. Please ensure that a toilet brush is on hand.

Am I required to sign a contract?

No! We strive to earn your business by providing EXTRAordinary service. We don’t believe in strong arm tactics or attempting to lock you into a contract. We believe that by meeting and exceeding your expectations, you will continue to patronize us.

Does someone have to be home when Maid to Scrub is scheduled to clean?

No. Maid to Scrub understands that your time is valuable and that you might not be present during a scheduled cleaning. Our cleaning teams are ethical and trained to work independently, completing their duties without the homeowner’s presence. Simply leave instructions on how to gain entrance and we’ll take it from there.

How do you determine the costs of cleanings?

Based on experience, we provide flat rate pricing. The allocated time should be ample for a home in live-in condition. The package you select identifies the maximum number of hours our services should take. While we generally estimate 75 minutes per bedroom homes where the bathrooms haven’t been cleaned regularly may be expected to take longer. In the event that your home requires more time, you may pay $25.00/person/hour or elect to have the items addressed during the next cleaning appointment.

What if I’m not satisfied with the cleaning efforts of the team?

Because we are committed to excellence, this is rare. However, if it happens, we would like to know within 24 hours of the cleaning. We will return and correct the mistake.

What if one of the cleaning technicians gets injured during a cleaning?

You are not responsible for injury to our cleaning teams; all cleaning teams are properly insured.

Is there a fee if the team is locked out or I cancel without ample time?

Yes, there will be a cancellation fee of $75.00. To avoid a cancellation fee, please notify Maid to Scrub of any changes at least 72 hours before the scheduled cleaning. In the case of a true emergency, management will likely strike the cancellation fee. Yet if there is not an emergency, the cancellation fee will apply.

What if I need to change my schedule?

You will find this incredibly easy to do. Just log into the account area of the website and adjust the schedule at your convenience.

How do I edit cleaning instructions or request accommodations for special needs?

Log into your account and enter your special needs. We will then make the appropriate accommodations.

How does Maid to Scrub handle antiques and collectibles?

To ensure that your priceless heirlooms are safe, please indicate which items in your home fall under this category and we won’t touch them. Additionally, we don’t dust artwork that lack a glass or plastic protective covering.

Can my pets be out during a cleaning?

While many of our cleaning techs are pet owners themselves, we ask that you secure all pets (dogs, cats, snakes, hamsters, rabbits, etc.) before we arrive. This will help ensure the safety of our teams and the comfort of your pet(s).

Do I need to prepare for the cleaning team?

Maid to Scrub asks that you tidy up before the cleaners arrive. For instance, removing untidy clothing, and addressing files, papers, and valuables. This allows our cleaners to provide a more detailed cleaning. If the dishwasher has been cleared out, our cleaners will load it with any dirty dishes. However, our teams will not hand wash any dishes, unless concierge service has been ordered.

When is payment due and how do I pay for my cleaning?

Payment is due either before or on the date of the scheduled cleaning. You may pay online with a valid credit card, and you won’t be charged until the day of service.

Are all of your technicians college students?

Good question! No, not all are college students. Our teams consists of people from diverse backgrounds and while some are college students, some aren’t. Many of the college students that we work with are members of our developing internship program. As college students ourselves, we find that working as maids allows us the flexibility to work, earn business experience, and continue our education.
